New Adventures in Library Instruction episode
by Jason on Sep.20, 2009, under podcasting
Well, September has been incredibly busy so far. I’ll try to get back to posting more regularly once things slow down a bit at work.
We did, however, find time to record a new ALI episode. Play it here or check it out over at the ALI blog for the full show-notey goodness with links and such.
New Adventures in Library Instruction episode
by Jason on Aug.20, 2009, under podcasting, presentations
The August episode of ALI is up — we talked (mostly) about Powerpoint and presentations, and were joined for the latter half of the show by Maurice Coleman of the terrific T is for Training podcast. I hope you enjoy it, and let me know if you’ve got topics or people you’d like to hear on future episodes.
New podcast ep: Professional development without a budget
by Jason on Jul.21, 2009, under podcasting
Our July episode of Adventures in Library Instruction is up, a bit later than usual since Rachel and I were in Chicago for ALA. We decided this month to talk about how to keep up your professional development when you don’t have any money to do it with. I’ve been lucky enough to have some travel/conference money for the year, but I know a lot of people whose budgets have been slashed into non-existence.
We’re thinking next month might be about Powerpoint, slide shows and presentation techniques. If you’ve got any ideas, drop us a comment.
Podcast episode “Library on the Go”
by Jason on Nov.10, 2008, under podcasting
This is the last episode of the library podcast I did for Emory undergrads. It was Rachel’s (great) idea to do an episode on mobile library content. We (briefly) mention some things like audiobooks, iTunes U and the new Zotero beta, which features an iPhone/iPod Touch interface.
This podcast was one of my favorite projects at Emory, and Rachel and I had a great time working on it together and presenting about it. I hope I’ll get to do something like this at GSU once I’m a little more settled.
Games in Libraries podcast
by Jason on Jun.06, 2008, under podcasting
If you’ve been dying to hear my opinion of the Lego Star Wars video game (and if you’re reading this, I know you have), you’re in luck. My good friend Beth Gallaway invited me to do a game review on the Games in Libraries podcast.
